The New York Map Society has rescheduled its September 28 event featuring John Tauranac on Subway Maps to October 19 due to the site host’s illness.
Members with accepted RSVPs for the original day have priority and must reconfirm attendance by emailing kapochunas@gmail.com.
A new waitlist will be established for current and lapsed members.

Program overview:

“I will give a brief overview of early subway maps, including some privately printed maps, then start talking in greater depth on the MTA maps in the ’40s–’60s, then the ’72 Vignelli schematic, the ’79 MTA map, and the recently released schematic, with comparisons with my own most recent (2020) subway map.”
