# 1: President Steve Hanon, Vice President Laura Ten Eyck, Treasurer Steve Banker and Secretary Andrew Kapochunas will run for re-election (their bios are HERE), but any member can propose running for one of those positions in our society for 2022. If you’re interested, and willing to volunteer time to our society, send a bio to kapochunas@gmail.com between now and November 25. Email voting will run from Nov. 26 to Dec. 6, with winners announced at our December 7 event. We hope you’ll RENEW now for 2022, if you haven’t already.

# 2: For the first time ever, we will be holding a raffle for a framed 180-year-old map of New York City retailing for $500+! Cost of a raffle ticket? No more than 2022 membership in the New York Map Society received by December 31, 2021: $15 for students, $30 for General membership, $100 for Sustaining membership — which would get you three tickets!, $1,000 for Lifetime membership — which would get you ten tickets! Complimentary members and the society’s board members are excluded from the raffle. The raffle is open to 2022 renewals, with any existing 2022 renewals automatically getting assigned the appropriate number of tickets. Images of the map, purchased by the society from New York City’s Argosy Bookstore, are below. The drawing will be held in early January. Ready to RENEW?

# 3: December 7th’s event will be a members-only “Show & Tell,” limited to ten members virtually showing and discussing a map for five minutes each. First member come, first served! Send your image and brief details to kapochunas@gmail.com. A third great reason to RENEW!
